Join us this Saturday, September 23, 2017, for a sport model rocket launch and contest event at the Harmon Flying Field in Aurora, Ohio.

The Ghost of Liberty Regional Meet

Main Contest Events:
  • E Dual Eggloft Altitude (altimeter)
  • B Streamer Duration

There will be prizes for the highest E Dual Eggloft and longest B Streamer flights.

In addition, any of the following 2017-2018 Contest Year NRC Events may be flown:
  • 1/2A Parachute Duration
  • 1/2A Boost Glider Duration
  • A Streamer Duration
  • A Helicopter Duration
  • A Payload Altitude-Altimeter
  • C Egg Lofting Altitude-Altimeter

Exceptional performance in NRC Events throughout the Contest Year may qualify a NAR member to compete for Event Specialist and National Champion awards at NARAM-60 in Pueblo, Colorado August 4-10, 2018.

Note: Competition Rocketry has changed. For more information about the NRC Events, Event Specialist, and National Champion awards, see Chapter 13 of the United States Model Rocket Sporting Code (USMRSC or "Pink Book") available in PDF form at the NAR website:


We will set up 30-60 minutes before the launch and start promptly at 3:00 pm.

Non-contest sport model rockets may be launched anytime.

This launch will immediately precede our annual Night Launch and is a great opportunity to get in your first flights of new night launch rockets.

We will only launch until 7:00 pm, at which time we will break for the Night Launch Safety Meeting and set-up.

Rain Date is Sunday, September 24, 2017 (daytime sport launch and Contest Events only–Noon to 4 pm). Stay tuned for last minute updates.

It has been a long time since we last talked.  I have a bunch of model rocket stuff – rockets and motors from our scout days.  The motors have been in a hermetically sealed ammo can for a few years.  Would you guys be interested in them or should I just safely dispose of them?
