The Saturday Launch has been moved to Sunday, October 9, 2016.

Given the choice between "more windy" and "less windy," the lesser always wins.  Sunday is forecast to be less windy than Saturday.  Flying in breezes up to 15 mph is not fun, in my opinion.

I saw where the light drifted off to.  I think it landed in an overgrown lot just west of the house across the street.  I walked the yard at night and didn't see the Alpha's lights.

I may take a ride out there today and have a look....

It was cool...and I know why it went so high / fast!


Looking at the work bench, I discovered that I grabbed (by accident) and loaded up a G-64 motor instead of the F-40!

It's been such a long spell not launching, I guess I didn't pick up on the differences. 

Well, I guess I know that it flies OK on a G-64!  LOL.

We are go for launch tonight!  The sport launch will begin at 5:00.  There will be a MANDATORY SAFETY MEETING at 7:00 PM, followed by the night launch.  Flying conditions are forecast to be very favorable.  Come and enjoy!

  • Winds throughout the afternoon and evening will be from the NE at 5 gusting to 10 mph. I would expect a reduction in gusts after sunset.
  • Partly cloudy afternoon skies will become clear in the evening.
  • The waning crescent moon will not rise until well after midnight.

The official GO / No-Go announcement will be made tomorrow (Friday) evening.
