locked Christmas Party !

John Ulizzi

Hey Folks,

Survey says Sunday, so Sunday it is...

The down low:

Christmas Party at my house, Sunday, November 27th, 3pm til whenever. This will be a potluck style party, and I will need some help. I will whip up a large batch of pasta with meatsauce and provide all paper products/ cups/plates/ utensils and soft drinks. We'll need some side dishes, salad and desserts. I'll make a special request of Mark to provide some homemade beer, and Wolf to provide some homemade mead. I will supply homemade wine. So I need some volunteers and some RSVPs... Bring your wives, bring your girlfriends ( just not both...), and bring your kids...

My address:

4757 Glastonbury Circle
Richmond Hts, Ohio, 44143

My phone:

216-389-9371

Bring something rocket related for a white elephant gift exchange!!!

RSVPs and volunteers please, here or by text or phone...

Hope to see you all next Sunday!!

John Ulizzi

PS. If necessary, if we were to launch on Sunday, the party could be moved to Saturday evening.

PSS. Mike, can you please forward this to the FB page. I have tried several times, no joy, still nothing there...

Jim, Mark, Mike, Wolf or Cornelius,

Could one of you please post my Christmas Party Announcement to the MTMA Facebook page?  I have tried several times but it will not post.

Thanks,

John

Hi Folks,

I wanted to gauge interest in a Christmas Party. I would be happy to host a potluck style party at my house but the only date I can do it is Sunday, November 27th, the Sunday after Thanksgiving, (or Saturday the 26th if we launch on Sunday...). I would make this open to spouses and kids of course. I live in Richmond Hts , which is not exactly centrally located for everybody, but I would love to do this.

Who would be up for this?

Thanks,

John Ulizzi

I'm interested in going - soon.  Let's set a date this month.  We can even schedule a couple sessions.  I've gone there after work, so I'm open to weekday evenings too.

WARNING - if you use the little self-pay lot on Cedar next to ThinkBox, pay with cash only.  It's a $1.00 per hour so bring dollar bills.  I used a debit card and I am 99% certain that my credit card info was stolen there.  Good thing the bank almost instantly inactivated the card.  I used to take our cashless culture for granted.  Not anymore.

locked Sport Launch postponed to Sunday, October 23, 2016

Wolfram v.Kiparski

Due to predicted chance for showers, and especially the wind, this Saturday's launch is being moved to Sunday, October 23, 2016.

We will meet at noon (the regular time).  Early birds - be there at 11:30 to help set up.

Can someone PLEASE update the website this time?  I am getting tired of having to manage conflicts with the Flying Aces, who I have no desire to antagonize.  We postpone a launch to Sunday and it invariably creates conflict.  Several times I was told that our website had the old date, not the postponed-to date.  Flying Aces members actually do consult with our schedule before driving out to the field.  If we don't have the correct information there, it creates a problem.  I had a very unpleasant encounter with a rather surly Flying Aces member at the last launch and I do not wish to ever repeat that experience.

I could update the schedule myself, but even if I had access to MTMA's webserver, I would not immediately know how to update anything without taking the time to learn how Word Press works.  I had access once when I set up the Joomla-driven NARAM-55 website, but instructions, passwords, or whatever it is these days was given to me years ago and I no longer know what that was.  Plus there is the Word Press learning curve to deal with.

PLEASE help.

Thanks, Mark.

We flew representing MTMA and our section total was also higher than any other section.

Subject: [MTMA] CMMM-4 Re: Today's Launch

Mike and I went to PSC's Carl McLawhorn Memorial Meet (CMMM) last weekend to compete as a team.  The events were:. F Helicopter Duration, A Flexwing Duration, B Boost Glider, A Altitude with altimeter, and 1/4A parachute duration.  We took first in four of the events, and a second place for 1/4A PD.  Mike's A Altitude model even set a new US record.  The Helicopter that i was test flying at the last launch suffered a DQ on Saturday, but flew too well on Sunday, disappearing over a distant tree line to land in a large pond.  Some nice person witnessed the splash down and recovered the model for us.  Timers lost sight of the model while it was still in the air after 67 seconds, but that was good enough.  Only one other person managed to make a qualified flight.  Tough event.

Yeah, John... It was a great day even though it was a bit too windy. Watching you actually fly rockets multiple times without crashing a single one was a hoot.  I successfully tested my F Helicopter Duration model, which flew on to Victory last weekend.   Plus I got to work just in time. :)

Looks like we might be flying on a Sunday again - warmer, sunnier, and no threat of rain.  Saturday looks iffy.  Stay tuned for the final word later this week.

We had a great launch today. It was particularly fun for my son and me, probably due to the (finally) repeated and reproducible success of not one but two of my rear deploy prototypes that I have been working on (read crashing and blowing up) all year long... Mark's cato and the mouse just added to the excitement...

Given the choice between "more windy" and "less windy," the lesser always wins.  Sunday is forecast to be less windy than Saturday.  Flying in breezes up to 15 mph is not fun, in my opinion.

See you Sunday!
