We are GO for launch!!!
#go
The weather isn’t as beautiful as last launch, but the winds are favorable and though overcast, the very slight chance of rain is.... very slight.
Bring out your rockets and come fly! Remember, we are hosting the cub scouts for this launch but we will still have plenty of time to launch our own rockets today. Jeff

Thank you for volunteering. For those who still can, we appreciate your flexibility and welcome your assistance. We will be setting up around 11 and the scouts will be on site around 12:30. Volunteers and any regular club members wishing to fly, come on out and bring your rockets! See y’all at the field! Jeff

Re: MTMA Boy Scout Troop 3269 Model Rocket Launch - Sat, 8/25/18 10:00am-4:00pm
#cal-reminder
As an addendum to the automatic calendar reminder, I have a few updates to this weekend's planned scout launch. Initially, I believed that this launch would be fore two separate Boy Scout Troops, but I was incorrect. They are Cub Scouts. Originally, the launch planned was two separate Packs staggered into two sessions, one starting at 10 AM and the next at 12 (ish). I was contacted yesterday by the pack leader, and informed that one of the groups had an issue with the rocket kits they sourced, and had cancelled for their group of kids. I offered our groups help to get the kids flying, but the pack leader I spoke with told me she had made a similar offer and it was declined. Therefore, we will be having only one group of kids coming out to the launch this weekend, and since they have another event going on in the morning, they will not be out to launch until 12 (ish). I would still like to get out to the field and set up by 10AM and any club member who would like to come out before the kids arrive can come and fly. From the last launch it would appear that this number of kids can get done launching within a couple of hours, so we should also have some time left to launch afterwards as well. If you're coming out to assist, you don't have to get there by 10, but you're welcome to do so anyway to hang out and / or fly. If you're on the fence about coming out to assist, please come on out. To see the faces of the little ones light up when their rockets take to the sky is one of the most rewarding sights you could ever see! As always, this is all dependent on the weather holding out. We will keep everyone in the loop as far as Go or NO-Go status as always. Thanks! Jeff

We are GO for launch!
#go
There is only minimal chance of a spotty shower tomorrow so we are GO for our Cub Scout launch. We have about 30 or so scouts coming out to launch rockets with us tomorrow and we will be assisting them should they have any trouble with their models.
I anticipate having time after the scouts are finished to launch our own rockets, so bring what ya got and put it in the air!!! See you all tomorrow! Jeff

Re: Tomorrow's Cub Scout launch

Is it possible to get a wheelchair close enough to see a launch? Our son is in a wheelchair now and as a family we did a wee bit of rocketry. We have not for a long time. I would take a day off to do this! Thank you

Tomorrow's Cub Scout launch
Looks like there's only a very slight chance of scattered rain tomorrow, so we WILL be launching. Thanks to everyone who volunteered to help out. We will be sending out the official "GO" announcement later today. We will be getting the ball rolling a little earlier than usual tomorrow, and will hopefully be set up and launching by 11:00 AM, so if you who have volunteered to help can be there a little before that time to help set up and get the ball rolling, it would be great. Still in desperate need of people to commit for the next scout launch, on August 25th. If anyone can help out we could really use it. Thanks again to all who have volunteered. See you at the field tomorrow! Jeff

Re: Vortico on F26
I love those black powder motors! Here is my Cosmodrome Nike Smoke on the same motor with a 6-second delay. I flew it at NARAM 59 in Muskegon, MI last August. That's also my MAMMOTH on pad # 11 .
