Not sure who saw the r.m.r. posting about the System Three epoxy

$3.00 for those little 1oz tubes they sell, and System Three is
supposed to be one of the best. It includes:

8 oz resin
4 oz hardener
Silica thickener
Wood flour
Plastic minifibers
Phenolic microballoons
Squeegee
Brushes
Roller cover
Graduated cups
Stirring sticks
Disposable gloves
Fiberglass cloth

As a Civil Engineer myself, I just have to chime in.

Master Builders does not make concrete, they make concrete better. They make chemicals (called admixtures) that are added to concrete as it is mixed at the batch plant. Some of these chemicals may also be added to the transit mixer (cement truck as you non-Engineers call it) after it arrives at the job site. These chemicals can be used to speed up the time it takes concrete to cure (no it does not dry, the water in it chemically bonds with the cement in a fashion not dissimilar to 2-part epoxy), slow down the time it takes to cure, improve the fluidity of the mix (so that less water can be used but the stuff still flows), increase the amount of entrained air (very important for sidewalks and driveways in climates such as ours to prevent surface distresses), and a multitude of other things.

I'm sure Fred will let us know all the other things Master Builders does, these are just the ones I am familiar with.

BTW, I was a member of the Akron U. Drinking Team (we just called ourselves the Concrete Canoe Team in public). We did not use Sonotubes, plastic hose fits in the mouth much better! Oh, you mean to make the canoe? Shucks, we had a mold.

Thanks, Mark and Cal for filling in for me while I was on the road.

If anyone wants information on Master Builders, or our affiliated
companies, we have lots of web sites that have the official sanction of
marketing. I work in R&D (Reformulate and Digress) with the powders
group-I formulate the "instant rock-just add water" of the bagged goods
world now sold by the ChemRex affiliate. I attach a listing of some of the
web sites (please accept my appologies if this appears to be a
commercial-y'all asked), or if you ever ask me, I can talk for hours about
this fascinating topic (it better be fascinating-it pays my bills). I use
my company e-mail for my home e-mail 'cause it is fast and
reliable-therefore you got my out of office message.

locked eGroups is now Yahoo Groups

m_reckt@...

Important announcement to all members of the MTMA group:

We have been assimilated.

On August 31, 2000, Yahoo completed the acquisition of eGroups. Since
that time, Yahoo has been working on merging the eGroups service with
their own Yahoo Clubs.

Well, last night (without much warning, I must say), it happened.
Yahoo Clubs and eGroups have merged into Yahoo Groups.

If you try to go to our main page at eGroups (or any other old
eGroups page for that matter), you will be redirected to the new page
at Yahoo Groups and asked for a Yahoo login.

You will still be able to send and receive group messages through e-
mail, read messages online, and browse the online file area; but, if
you try to access any of the pages or features that required an
eGroups login, you are in for a surprise. You will need to "convert"
your eGroups account to a Yahoo account (
http://groups.yahoo.com/convwiz ). "Convert" is actually a misnomer.
What you will be doing is signing up for a Yahoo account (if you
don't already have one) and associating your old eGroups account with
it.

To get the story direct from Yahoo, click on the link below or read
my cut-and-paste text below my sig line.

Special Announcement for eGroups Users

Dear eGroups Member,

As you may already know, eGroups merged with Yahoo! in August 2000.
We're now proud to announce the launch of Yahoo! Groups, a new
service from Yahoo! using eGroups technology.

What Happened to eGroups?

All the features you know and love about eGroups have carried over
and we've added some new functionality that we hope you'll enjoy.
Don't worry, all eGroups email and web addresses will continue to
work, and all of your group information and membership has been
maintained. We'll soon begin to internationalize Yahoo! Groups. In
the interim, you can continue to use the international versions of
eGroups.

What's new on Yahoo! Groups?

Yahoo! Groups has lots of new features and even better customization.
You can:
Chat with other group members using our improved Yahoo! Chat
Add a splash of color to your group, or a main page photo, all
without knowing HTML
See when group members are online and communicate with them in real
time using Yahoo! Messenger
Reach a larger audience - you will have the entire Yahoo! Network at
your doorstep
And much, much more to come!

The best part -- you don't have to do anything to convert your group.
This has all happened automatically. All you have to do to access the
wide array of web functionality is link your current eGroups account
with a Yahoo! ID by clicking on the "Convert my eGroups account" link
below.

And remember, if you would like to continue using only the email
capabilities of the service, you won't need a Yahoo ID. You will
continue to receive and post mail, just like you always have in the
past.

For a detailed FAQ on merger topics, please go here (
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/groups/info ).

On behalf of everyone here at Yahoo! Groups, thanks for being a
member of our service.

Sincerely,

The Yahoo! Groups team

Hey all!

I think I've got all the pieces together here, so we'll see how this
"acquisition" will accomidate me...

Next launch, on February 11th is on, pending weather, and field conditions.
Dunno about you guys, but my yard looks like a plowed field right now.
Hopefully, things will either dry up, or freeze up by the 11th.! Keep your
fingers crossed!

Mark and I have finally scheduled a meeting for this month... here's the deal...

Carve the 11th in stone on your calendars, as, if we scrub the launch for
one reason or another, we will hold our meeting on the same day, at 2:00PM
at my house in Mantua. So, "something" will happen on the 11th. Now, if we
fly on the 11th., we'll have the meeting on February 25th, same place, same
time.

Hope to see y'all... um.. doing *something* on the 11th.!

Hi I'm John Dyer,

I'm this year's Event Director for NARCON 2001.

I would like to invite you come join us in Dallas the weekend of
March 23 -
25 for this event.
We plan to make it even more exciting than last year.

Our banquet guest speaker is Glen Swanson, NASA's historian at the
Johnson
Space Center.
Before becoming the historian at JSC, he was the Editor for Quest
magazine.
Needless to say he has a little bit of experience in digging through
scale
data.
He's planning on giving us some insight into NASA.

Here's a partial list of some of our other speakers and the topics
they'll
be covering:
- John Pursley will be back to talk some more on Scale modeling
techniques
- Tom Prestia (of Tango Papa Decals) will be talking about scaling up
the
Estes Mars Lander
- Ted Mahler will be back talking more about Rocket photography.
- Buzz McDermott will finally be able to talk about cloning the
classics.
(Last year's NARCON kept him pretty busy. So he wasn't missed out on
giving
it.)

On the HPR side, we have talks ranging from Fiberglassing
to composite construction techniques
to how to get your Level III certification.

And there's a whole group of sessions specifically dealing
with education and how we can build the interest in
the next generation of model rocketeers.

This will truly be an event no Rocket hobbyist will want to miss!

A registration form can be found at: http://www.dars.org/narcon

Hope to see you there!
