Deep condolences and wishing warm memories of Bruce to son and friends. It is so tragic to lose a rocketeer, in this way. Francis Graham

So sorry to hear.
My best memory is spending the day with him and Wolf making and launching water bottle rockets with youngsters at the festival at Sunny Lake Park in Aurora several years ago.
Great guy, great stories!

Farr, Warren III W. <farrw@...>
Very sad news indeed.
My memory of Bruce is discussing his many Rocksim designs. Bruce may have been the only person to successfully model a stable saucer. Bruce analyzed the turbulence occurring under the saucer and hypothesized that it should be considered a physical part of
the rocket body. Bruce modeled turbulence as an inverted cone that had drag (lowering the CP) but no mass (no effect on CG). Bruce knew that saucers were stable, but wanted to know why. His mathematical explanation was impressive. The conversation was lively.
And my understanding of rocket design was better for it. Warren

I remember when I was building my motor it was 38 mill, and I had asked him to double check my O-rings. He said they were in the wrong place. I moved them to where he suggested, flew it
and I had a KATO. Luckily the damage was not bad. I went back to the instructions and showed him that I was in fact correct with what I originally had. I was able to cut a damaged section of my booster off, prep, load, and fly it again that day, this time
with a perfect flight. I was fortunate to have another load and case. Bruce felt terrible about that and I used to needle him about it ever time I saw him after that. It became our thing, the student showing up the master sort of thing. But I did it out
sheer respect for him and in a friendly way because he did so much to nurture my love of the hobby, he never knew it and I will never forget him.

Remember Bruce well from my days with MTMA. Especially when he and Mark came out to Camp Manitowoc to do a launch with the Boy scouts. I was the one who got hooked , not my son. God bless Sent via the Samsung Galaxy, an AT&T 4G LTE smartphone

Go for Lunch - Saturday, March 14, 2020
#go
We are GO for launch tomorrow, Saturday, March 14, 2020, at the Harmon Flying Field at 619 Bartlett Rd, Aurora, Ohio. Temperatures will be rising from the mid-30s into the low 40s, under mostly cloudy skies, with light winds out of the Northwest (parallel with Bartlett Road!). The forecast cloud ceiling is over 12,000 feet. With this magical combination of wind speed and direction, and high clouds, it's a great day for some high-altitude flights! Range set-up begins at 9:30 am. Please come early and help. The launch will start at 10 am and we'll go until dusk or until everyone's finished launching, whichever comes first. Please don't bail before we've packed up, we can use help with that too! Your 2020 MTMA Dues are DUE TOMORROW! After tomorrow, there will be a $5 late fee. You may bring cash or a personal check to the field tomorrow, mail me a personal check, or pay your dues through PayPal. If you need my mailing address or the email address I use for PayPal, send me an email or text me at 330-221-0823. MTMA club membership dues are $20 per family per calendar year. MTMA members must also hold a valid NAR membership. Dues are all "per-family" but family members who are not NAR members are subject to the non-member (guest) impulse, cluster, and stage restrictions listed below. MTMA launches are open to all. Non-member (guest) range fees are $5 per family per launch day. Guests at our Harmon Flying Field launches are limited to single C-motor impulse, with no clustered or staged models permitted. Our next launch (March 28 or 29) should be at the new field in Alliance. Stay tuned for more details. -- Mark Recktenwald MTMA Treasurer 330-221-0823

Hi Tom, Yes, it can. See one of the club officers. Unfortunately I have to work and will not be in attendance but one of the other club officers should be there to accept your dues and forward them on to Mark. Jeff
