Re: This Weekend's Launch is Canceled
#nogo
If anyone is interested, Tripoli Mid Ohio is having a launch tomorrow in East Charleston, near Dayton. It is about a 3 hour drive, but it is a great field (in my opinion, the best in Ohio for high power) The weather down there is forecast for clear, 5 mph winds, and low 40’s. What might be of interest is that after my TARC team finishes their last 2 qualifying flights, I will be attempting my L3! I have an M-1845 blue ready to go in my 8 inch Archer. They have a waiver to 15,000 feet. If you have wanted to open up your rockets but felt constrained by trees, this is the place to do it! Hope to see you there! They are a friendly bunch and welcome all rocket folk. Below is a link to their site. Well worth the drive, waiver is open from 10-5pm.

Our first launch of 2018 should be THIS SATURDAY, March 10, at Noon. The weather forecast is not looking too good, but we will wait to see how much snow we get and if the forecast highs change. Right now the forecast high temperatures both Saturday and
Sunday are just above freezing.
Our 2018 Launch Calendar will be posted to the website and group calendar soon. It’s the usual 2nd and 4th Saturday with Sunday as the weather make-up day. We are, however, making a change to the staffing at the launches. The 2nd Saturday will be a fully-staffed
launch (club officers and club gear present), while the 4th Saturday will be a bring-your-own-gear (BYOG) launch. These BYOG launches are only be open to those paid-up MTMA members who also hold NAR membership. A club officer may or may not be present at the
4th Saturday launch, so each member’s personal NAR insurance will be in force.

And our troublesome launch pad heads have been reconditioned and are 100% functional.
Still on the to-do list: We will be replacing one of the ethernet cables with more robust outdoor cabling. We will be replacing our mid-power pad with something easier to use and a little less cumbersome to transport. A 20mm rail from 80/20 Inc. for use with mini-rail-buttons may (as in might) be available this Spring.
More to-do: We are still working on what steps need to be taken to improve our range operations. I believe that we are going to be asking MTMA members for more help running launches. More about this later in another thread.

Take care, young padawan. Angering one’s back is akin to angering one’s wife. Tread lightly my friend, and feel better.
Dont worry about missing the meeting, we all came up with a list and of stuff for you to do... Dont worry, it isnt anything more than we spoke of at the meeting at my house.
We got ‘er done. Feel better. Ibuprofen cocktail highly recommended. That’s two extra strength Advil chased with adult beverage of your choice !
